About

Dr. Ashleigh Sanchez's lifelong passion for animals and veterinary care shines through her journey. She graduated with a DVM degree from the University of California, Davis in 2002, and her love for animals ignited at a young age. Growing up surrounded by dogs, cats, and various pets, she knew her calling was to be a veterinarian. Despite living in the city, Ashleigh found a way to indulge her love for horses. She pursued her undergraduate degree in Equine Science at Colorado State University before embarking on her veterinary education at UC Davis. Ashleigh's dedication to animal care led her to complete an internship at the University of Illinois Veterinary Teaching Hospital. She later entered private practice, where she established her own thriving multi-doctor mixed animal practice in 2006. In 2013, her commitment to excellence in veterinary care was recognized when she became board certified through the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners. In 2018, Ashleigh seized the opportunity to relocate to New Mexico, bringing her family closer to their grandparents. Currently residing just outside Las Vegas, New Mexico, she continues to serve the Santa Fe area. Dr. Sanchez's profound belief in the importance of in-home euthanasia services has grown through years of veterinary patient care. She views it as one of the most precious gifts that pet owners can offer their beloved animals and that veterinarians can provide to their patients. Her passion lies in helping animals pass peacefully in the comfort of their homes, surrounded by loved ones, in a painless and low-stress environment. Outside her veterinary work, Ashleigh finds joy in horseback riding, competing in Reined Cowhorse events, and breeding cattle. She also enjoys crafting homemade soy candles, tending to her garden, and cheering on her children at their sports events. Her animal family includes several horses and a pack of working cur dogs, serving as both guardians and cuddly companions.
